San Francisco Bay Area Flight

Flew with my CFI friend while visiting family back home. Could not rent my usual c172 from PAO, so decided to try out the Piper Cherokee that he uses to instruct out of OAK. #baytour

Nice flight.
What's your views in regards to the C172 to the Cherokee...?

I usually fly the C172 w/ G1000 so I’ll leave my comments below on the two based on the planes.

C172: motorized flaps, high wing(more views and unobstructed picture opportunities), tighter space, dual entry

Cherokee: lever based flaps, more intuitive throttle control (a handle vs the push lever in the Cessna), trim is in an awkward spot between the seats, more space inside, only drawback is 1 door to enter, low wing plane so wing will be in most shots as well as not being able to see below on landing, easier landings and more stable flight overall.

Overall I really enjoyed the Cherokee and plan to get a checkout and want to do more hours on it.
